Doing Good Digital

Doing Good Digital is an agency out of California that excels in supporting non-profit organizations bring their campaigns to the next level.

We worked with the fantastic team at DGD to create a new look that was needed on their site. Although this wasn’t intended to be a visual-branding exercise we worked-through the steps I would normally take so we assured we were on the right path with the site refresh.

The team are nature-loving outdoors people who love the idea of adventure and being within nature. That feeling was essential in the brand along with a friendly and approachable look and feel. See below how I got there.

Visual Brand / Website / Reports

While working through a brief question and answer stage, I created two customer avatars that would serve as reference for decision-making through the process.

The next stage in our basic visual branding is to establish a style including colours, imagery and fonts. Using our conversations, the customer avatar and research I presented three ideas that took what they currently had and expanded on and refined it.

Using a few focus words to refine our options we decided the third option would suit DGD’s needs. A nice calm palette of colours and trendy font choice to stand out against the competition who use very dull fonts. We also added some hand-drawn elements to hint at collaboration and gameplays.

With a solid direction on the look of DGD, we moved into phase two, the website. Armed with a list of what was to go on the site, I worked through wire-framing, refining and creating the structure that would serve us in the building stage. Once wireframing was complete, it was on to

After the successful launch of the site, Doing Good Digital enlisted my help to adapt the look of the site to their existing and future reports, pitch decks and lead magnets.
